THIS SITE WILL BE SHUT DOWN SEPTEMBER 1ST, 2012. TO ACCESS LIBRARY SERVICES TO YOUTH IN CUSTODY CONTENT, PLEASE GO TO WWW.YOUTHLIBRARIES.ORG
No need to transfer, since we've decided on a format already - Camden
Here are some options - add more as you see them - we might want to consider.
We can write pros and cons in the comments section or underneath each option.
1. ALA wiki - an official ALA space that is searchable and linked to from the ALA web site. Request space on YALSA’s wiki or ALA’s wiki (http://wikis.ala.org/professionaltips/index).
2. YALSA’s wiki: complete the form here:
http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/yalsa/aboutyalsa/wiki_application.doc
3. Webpage set up by Colorado (Camden Camden Tadhg <Tadhg_C@cde.state.co.us>) organizing:
The webpage will be fully interactive. youthlibraries.org I think we should set some guidelines in terms of who is allowed to edit it, but I’m assuming that most of the content will be added and updated by people who are not me! We use Drupal for our web content here at CSL, so that’s what I expect we would be using for this page.
4. Keep this (the one we are on right now) independent wiki . 2GB ?? space? Is this going to be enough?

Has anyone worked on a wiki that was linked with ALA? That would be my first question what are the pros and cons?

Yes. We had a beautiful wiki on this site (PBworks) for Quick Picks. We migrated it over to the ALA wiki site and it became unusable. Have they fixed the problem? Don't know.

I should say problems - plural. It's like the entire thing didn't work. I think it's because this one (PB Works) has a pretty good structure, and it's intuitive, and there's not a lot of steps you have to go through to change something.
